Sterling Ridge is one of the newest villages in The Woodlands, opening in 1999, The Woodlands’ 25th anniversary and so it was aptly named after their sterling anniversary. Located in the western section of America’s #1 master-planned community, The Woodlands, it is approximately 30 miles northwest from Houston, Texas, with Sterling Ridge being just 5 ½ miles west of Interstate 45. It encompasses the prestigious neighborhood of Carlton Woods and is home to The Woodlands Country Club, Gary Player Course, The Club at Carlton Woods and The Carlton Woods Nicklaus Golf Course. Being an upper middle class community, The Woodlands has an average family income of $110,000 and has been ranked one of the top 10 safest communities in Texas to reside.

With an estimated population of 16,507 residents, Sterling Ridge is home to exemplary schools, great shopping, a variety of restaurants and many serene, lush parks. It is conveniently situated and has easy access to both FM 2978 and FM 1488. With over 2,500 existing homes, and still expanding, this fast growing village offers a wide variety of homes, from condominiums starting around $200,000, the new construction homes of May Valley at $300,000 to the exclusive gated community of Carlton Woods, topping out at over 5 million dollars, with a vast selection in between. From breathtaking golf course front home lots to the tranquil lakefront property, this village has it all.

The residents of Sterling Ridge are served by the award-winning schools of the Conroe and Magnolia Independent School Districts. Joel L. Deretchin and nearby Coulson Tough are where the children in K – 6 will attend, with the newer neighborhood of May Valley, in the western portion of Sterling Ridge will attend Smith Elementary. The Woodlands High School Ninth Grade campus is also within the Sterling Ridge community. All of the public schools in The Woodlands are highly regarded, with their Blue Ribbon honors and for their educational excellence, with many of them have receiving a 10 out of 10 rating from GreatSchools. Providing other educational options are the private institutions of The Woodlands Preparatory School, K – 12, a nonsectarian college-preparatory day school, John Cooper School, Pre K – 12, specializing in AP math and science programs. St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, preschool – 8 and The Woodlands Christian Academy, preschool – 12, a Christian based college-preparatory school. The George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library makes its home in the Village of Sterling Ridge along with the YMCA.
Like all of the Villages of The Woodlands, Sterling Ridge has all that you’d need within a short walk or drive. The Sterling Ridge Village Center, is anchored by a Kroger Signature grocery store and a Walgreens drug store. The renown Perry’s Steakhouse & Grill, famous Nit Noi Thai Restaurant, the award winning Brother’s Pizza, the Mediterranean flavors of Zoe’s Kitchen along with The Woodlands Gourmet Bakery and a Starbucks coffee are also in the Village Center. Many other businesses providing personal and professional services are also there for the convenience of their residents. A Wal-Mart SuperCenter and many other shops are located at the western entrance to The Woodlands on Woodlands Parkway and FM 2978.

Sterling Ridge has multiple parks and green spaces for their residents to enjoy.
